Olympic and Paralympic Day was celebrated on June 23 in 100 countries around the World and right here in the two-time Olympic Village of Lake Placid with activities being hosted at the Olympic venues around the theme Move, Learn and Discover. The Lake Placid Figure Skating Championships kicked off the day at the Olympic Center and Kathaleen Cutone inspired with her Dream Big presentation. At Mt Van Hoevenberg there was a meet and greet of US Olympians, sport demonstrations and a run/walk/wheel with 2k and 5k distances. To finish the day, an intergenerational crowd enjoyed a free showing of the movie Miracle at the Palace Theatre. It was a Gold Medal way to finish off a day of celebration of our Olympic spirit in Lake Placid.
