Minority and Women-Owned, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise/Equal Employment Opportunity

The Olympic Authority is committed to promoting participation opportunities for New York State (“State”) certified minority- and women-owned business enterprises (“MWBEs”) and federal disadvantaged business enterprises (“DBEs”), and equal employment opportunities (“EEO”) for minority group members and women in the performance of ORDA contracts. As such, the Olympic Authority complies with, and requires all contractors and subcontractors working on Olympic Authority contracts as well as projects receiving EFC financial assistance to comply with, State Executive Law Article 15-A, Title 5 NYCRR Parts 140-145, and Title 40 CFR Part 33, as applicable.

For contracts entered into by the Olympic Authority for its corporate operations, the Olympic Authority has established a 30% total MWBE goal, comprised of a 5% MBE goal and a 25% WBE goal as well as a 6% service-disabled veteran business goal.

The Olympic Authority also requires all contractors and subcontractors working on Olympic Authority contracts, to comply with State and federal non-discriminatory provisions. Contractors and subcontractors:

  1. shall not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, predisposing genetic characteristic, marital status, military status, or domestic violence victim status against any employee or applicant for employment;
  2. shall undertake or continue existing programs of affirmative action to ensure that minority group members and women are afforded equal employment opportunities without discrimination; and
  3. shall make and document conscientious and active efforts to employ and utilize minority group members and women in the workforce on contracts and subcontracts relating to Olympic Authority -funded projects.

Event Details

The Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) is excited to announce the upcoming Minority, Women and Service-Disabled Businesses Matchmaker and Opportunities Forum. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The event will be held at the Olympic Conference Center, 2nd Floor Conference Rooms, located at 2634 Main Street, Lake Placid, NY.

Event Overview

The Olympic Authority is actively seeking participation from prime contractors working at ORDA facilities, as well as those interested in future collaborations. This forum provides a unique opportunity for prime contractors to host matchmaking tables and meet with minority, women, and service-disabled veteran businesses in pre-scheduled, ten-minute time slots. These meetings are designed to facilitate discussions on potential subcontracting opportunities.

Who Should Attend

All prime contractors currently engaged with the Olympic Authority or interested in pursuing work with the organization are strongly encouraged to attend. Participation in this event will help fulfill good faith outreach efforts.

Additional Presentations and Resources

In addition to the matchmaking sessions, procurement officials from the Olympic Authority will be present. Representatives from the New York State Office of General Services Division of Service-Disabled Veterans’ Business Development (SDVOB), the New York State Empire State Development Minority and Women Business Development Division (MWBE), the North Country Small Business Development Center, and the Empire APEX Accelerator will also present information about their services and answer questions.
