Oldest Ice Dance Event in the World Attracts 270 Skaters from 11 Different Countries
What: The Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships, part of US Figure Skating’s National Qualifying Series and Solo Dance Series, and the Lake Placid Ice Dance International, an event on the International Skating Union (ISU) calendar. These prestigious events are hosted by the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority and sanctioned by US Figure Skating through the Skating Club of Lake Placid.
The Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships is the oldest ice dance event in the world, offering couples ice dance competitions from juvenile through senior levels, and solo dance events from preliminary through senior levels. The International competition will feature junior and senior levels.
When: July 28-31, 2024
Where: Lake Placid Olympic Center
Athletes: A total of 270 athletes will compete, including 72 in the international event.
