Like many things in life, the most important part of the Olympics is not winning but simply being there and being part of it all.

Now, as the road to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris draws nearer to the July 26 opening ceremonies, the Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority), in partnership with the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) invites all local merchants to join a unique and fun-filled scavenger hunt.

Each participating business will receive their own cardboard cut-out mascot from the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics (the Phyrges) or one of many past mascots, including Lake Placid’s own Roni the Racoon from the 1980 Games. The mascot on display signifies your business is a participant in the scavenger hunt. All supplies necessary for participating businesses will be provided free-of-charge, including the small prizes for scavenger hunt participants when they find your mascot. There’s nothing to buy, and nothing to lose, just delightful interactions with customers to gain.

Three major prizes will also be given out to randomly selected winners of those who complete the hunt.

This entertaining and educational event will run from the day of the opening ceremonies in Paris, July 26th through the end of these Summer Games, August 11. Businesses are urged to sign up as soon as possible as mascots are limited to 26 total.
