Oldest Ice Dance Event in the World Attracts 280 Skaters from 16 Countries

WHAT:

The Lake Placid Olympic Center once again plays host to two major ice dance events taking place July 28-31: the Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships and the Lake Placid Ice Dance International. These events will welcome 280 skaters to Lake Placid for four days of elite competition.

The Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships is recognized as the oldest ice dance competition in the world, offering couples and solo dance events at all levels, from preliminary through senior. It is part of U.S. Figure Skating’s National Qualifying Series and Solo Dance Series.

The Lake Placid Ice Dance International is an International Skating Union (ISU)-sanctioned international competition, drawing junior and senior-level teams from 16 countries across the globe.

Tuesday, July 29 – 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Wednesday, July 30 – 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 31 – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Lake Placid Ice Dance International is a designated ISU international event.
