Music and sport are each powerful in their own ways, but together, they have the ability to connect us, elevate our spirits, and inspire both heart and mind.
The two will come together in an unforgettable way the evening of July 24th when the Lake Placid Conference Center hosts the Lake Placid Sinfonietta for a unique live orchestral concert inspired by the art of figure skating. This performance is not an on-ice show, but rather a musical experience that captures the emotion, grace, and energy of skating through a powerful live symphony.
From the first note to the final crescendo, audiences will feel the elegance of every glide and exhilaration of every jump, all captured through a dynamic live orchestral program inspired by artistry and athleticism of the ice. Set within a venue rich with Olympic history, this is more than a concert. It’s an immersive experience that honors both legacy and performance.
Featuring the iconic Olympic Fanfare and Theme by John Williams and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, the performance will capture the grace, drama, and emotion synonymous with figure skating. Also featured will be music from Olympic silver medalist and Lake Placid resident Paul Wylie’s 1992 performance, providing a powerful tribute to excellence at the highest level of sport.
The performance begins at 7:00 pm in the Lussi Ballroom of the Conference Center at Lake Placid, and a reception and cash bar with light snacks will follow.
It’s one night. On one stage. And an event you won’t want to miss.
Whether you are a fan of music, sport, or simply unforgettable live experiences, this evening offers a rare opportunity to be part of something extraordinary.
