On the horizon is the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, and the world’s best figure skaters will be here in Lake Placid November 14-16 to display their strengths and skills at one of the world’s most prestigious international competitions – 2025 Saatva Skate America.
This marks the sixth time the event has returned to Lake Placid since the first ever Skate America was held here in 1979, making it an indelible part of this Olympic Village’s rich history in figure skating. It’s also one of six big events in the International Skating Union’s Grand Prix of figure skating, culminating just a few weeks later at the Grand Prix Final in Nagoya, Japan.
“We are so excited that Skate America is returning to the place where it began,” said Sam Auxier, president of U.S. Figure Skating. “Lake Placid is an iconic destination and the home of legendary winter sports moments. It is also so closely tied to figure skating history in the United States that it was a natural choice to host this major international event.”
