Fun Competitions and Spring Events at Our Alpine Mountains

As spring weather moves in, the New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority will celebrate a successful season with fun competitions and spring events at Whiteface Mountain, Gore Mountain, and Belleayre Mountain.

Event Details:

Gore Mountain – Pond Skim
Date: Saturday, April 5, 2025
Time: Bib pick-up: 9-10 a.m.; event starts at 10:30 a.m.
Location: The Arena
Details: Participants will attempt to skim across the pond in bib order, youngest to oldest. Helmets are required, and skimmers should not use poles. Awards will be given for best costume, biggest splash, and best overall skim. Prizes will be awarded on the Sundeck.
Cost: $10 entry fee; a valid lift ticket for April 5 or a season pass is required.

Whiteface Mountain – International Pondskimming Competition
Date: Saturday, April 12
Time: Noon
Location: Round-A-Bout Trail
Details: Registration is required at Guest Services between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. on event day. Participation is limited to the first 100 registrants. Spectators can watch from the sidelines or the Cloudspin Deck.

Whiteface Mountain – Apple Butter Open
Date: Sunday, April 13
Time: Noon
Location: Brookside Trail
Details: Skiers and snowboarders will compete on bumps and jumps. Prizes will be provided by Forrence Orchards.

SKI3 Season Passes

Skiers and riders can secure the best pricing for 2025-2026 SKI3 Season Passes, which provides access to all three mountains, by purchasing their passes by April 30.
