With a record-breaking year that saw more than 1.1 million visits at its venues in the Adirondacks and Catskills last year, the organization successfully hosted numerous high-level sporting events that included the FISU World University Games, FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, ECAC Hockey tournament, NCAA Alpine and Nordic Championships, and the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships. The combination of these elite sporting events and other year-round, day-to-day offerings resulted in a total economic impact of $341.8 million spread across communities in the North Country and Catskills. The Olympic Authority has another busy year ahead with a full ensemble of major sporting events.
