Olympic Experience Across Venues Available Starting June 21
The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (Olympic Authority) announces the return of the Lake Placid Legacy Sites Passport that offers guests the opportunity to experience activities at the four Olympic venues – Whiteface, Mt Van Hoevenberg, Olympic Jumping Complex, and the Olympic Center – for a discounted price.
The Passport package includes one-time admissions to the Veterans’ Memorial Highway, a ride on Whiteface Mountain’s Cloudsplitter Gondola, the Legacy Tour at Mt Van Hoevenberg, Skyride Experience at the Olympic Jumping Complex, and entry to the Lake Placid Olympic Museum. The cost is $64 for adults and $44 for 19 and under, military, and 65 and over.
“The Lake Placid Legacy Passport is a popular way for guests to explore the iconic venues that hosted two Winter Olympic Games and continue to attract world-class events to this day,” Olympic Authority Director of Marketing Liz Mezzetti said. “The Passport not only simplifies trip planning but also provides visitors with the unique opportunity to explore our newly modernized venues while immersing themselves in the Olympic legacy.”
Along with the Passport pass and lanyard, guests will receive a sticker set to keep track of their visits to each venue. Also included with the Lake Placid Legacy Sites Passport is a 10% discount on purchases made at the various retail stores and food and beverage locations located at the destination venues.
“The Passport brings the whole Legacy Sites experience together, allowing visitors to see, learn about, and fully engage with these historic venues,” Mezzetti said. “These are places where history was made and continues to be made during elite international competitions and by the athletes who continue to train at these locations.”
The Veterans’ Memorial Highway is a historic toll road that winds its way to the top of Whiteface Mountain, New York’s fifth-highest peak. At the top, visitors can take in sweeping views of the Adirondacks, Vermont, and Canada while enjoying the amenities provided by the 4610’ Grille and Castle Gift Shop. A short drive away from the Highway toll house, the Cloudsplitter Gondola can be accessed from the Base Lodge at Whiteface for a scenic ride through forests to an observation deck atop Little Whiteface.
The Legacy Tour at Mt Van Hoevenberg is a unique walking and bus tour led by expert guides who offer details and insights into the sliding sports of bobsled, luge, and skeleton while touring the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games.
At the Olympic Jumping Complex, the Skyride Experience includes a gondola ride from Intervales Lodge to the base of the ski jumping towers above. From there, a glass-enclosed elevator carries visitors to an observation deck that overlooks the Ausable River and the surrounding Adirondack Mountains.
The Lake Placid Olympic Museum is conveniently located inside the Olympic Center, just feet away from Herb Brooks Arena, where one of the most memorable moments in sports history took place during the 1980 Winter Olympics. The newly renovated Olympic Museum is home to the second-largest collection of Winter Olympic artifacts in the world, and includes interactive exhibits and innovative displays that reveal the boundless spirit of the Olympic Games.

The Passport is valid from the date of purchase through Oct. 9, 2023 and each one-time admission can be redeemed across multiple days at the various venues within that time period.
