The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) announces Gore Mountain will host the Leaf Cruncher 5K trail run on Saturday, October 1. The popular race attracts more than 200 participants and is returning for its 8th edition this year.
In addition to a fun, family-friendly, healthy way to celebrate the fall season, all participants will receive a scenic ride on the Northwoods Gondola valid the same day, plus a free raffle entry and a digital finish line photo, all included with their race fee. Additionally, the first 75 runners are guaranteed a Gore Mountain Leaf Cruncher water bottle.
Top finishers in each age category (7-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+) will receive a commemorative Leaf Cruncher 5K 2022 Finishers Certificate. Winners will be announced and certificates issued at the post-race awards and raffle ceremony. Raffle prize winners must be present to win.
The race day schedule is as follows:
- Participant check-in and bib pickup – 8:00 am to 8:45 am
- Race start – 9:00 am
- Northwoods Gondola opens – 10:00 am
- Awards and raffle drawing – approximately 30 minutes following the finish of the final registered participant
Registration for the event is $40 for adults ages 20 to 64 and $20 for youth ages seven to 19 and seniors 65+, as well as for SKI3 Season Pass holders. Those registering as a 2022/23 season passholder must use the reload number from SKI3 Card when registering online and present the reloaded card at the bib pick-up.
