OLYMPIC REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ACCEPTING PUBLIC COMMENTS ON UMPA DRAFT AMENDMENT FOR BELLEAYRE MOUNTAIN SKI CENTER
The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) is soliciting comments on the draft Unit Management Plan Amendment (UMPA) for the Belleayre Mountain Ski Center in Highmount, NY, published in the Environmental Notice Bulletin (ENB) on July 13, 2022. The UMPA proposes the realignment and replacement of Lift 7 and installation of a skier bridge, alpine and Nordic trail modifications, improvements to and construction of hiking and mountain biking trails, including connections to the Shandaken Wild Forest, administration building expansion, connector staircase between parking lots, a gondola cabin maintenance building, a beginner area with conveyor lift, relocation of the previously approved snowmaking reservoir, and installation of electric vehicle charging stations at the upper and lower mountain parking lots.
