2009 Junior Bobsled Season

Sliders/Parents/ Guardians,

We have had a moderately successful first couple weeks considering what has been thrown at us this year. We have had some new sliders who seem to have taken a liking to the sport (Rita, Reagan, Gabe, Hunter and others). We have old time veterans who are doing well but miss the cutting edge of true competition leading up to the normally scheduled Empire State Games (Whitehall Club, Morgan's, Sean Ryan, Gillette's and everyone else). I am proud of everyone for showing up, working hard, looking out for each other, and taking full advantage of the ice time that has been given to us.

Regional parents and volunteers, Whitehall Parents, Rick, Jim, Chris Woodward; Thank you for your continuing help with the sleds, students, and getting your children to the track.

Being that this past Friday was canceled and sliders such as Bruce, Caleb, Blaise and others have showed up on Sundays', the standings attached are for Sunday sliding.

I haven't seen many people sanding runners this year. Take responsibility for the sled that you have been using. I have sandpaper. If you want your times to come down, this is the first and most obvious step to take.

Side notes:

We will not be competing in the Empire State Games this year. We will be holding our own championship, or may be using the Eastern Regional's as our championship.
Sliders are allowed to cross over and slide any night. I have decided that this should be available to you sliders because of the unconventional season. You have the opportunity to slide on at least 10 dates, take advantage!
